I need more than java than the machine's 10oz cascade. So, now I have a big oversized cup and now do a 10oz. cascade and once again with a 6 oz. cascade, that fills my cup. But withal, go a strong cup of coffee.
by: Bearding
I run my Keurig pod through three-iv times with no problems. Aye, the coffee gets weaker and weaker, merely I do this to help me get more liquids since I don't care for drinking water. And it gives merely enough coffee flavor to satisfy me.

Ok. I become wanting multiple cups at a fourth dimension from i grand cup, simply storing a loving cup of moisture coffee grounds to consume later after mold and bacterial cultures have had time to grow? Really? That'south insane. Merely brew yourself a dainty cup of dysentery! Prissy.

Interesting posts here. Got hither searching for a craft way to reuse K-cups, but thought I'd add my 2-cents since I'm here. Rather than using a mug, I identify a small coffee/tea pot on my Kuerig and put it through a mash. In one case finished, I lift the handle and put it down to brew again (usually selecting the smaller size loving cup) without touching the K-cup. This gives a "medium" brew rather than a strong or weak "rebrew". I just reheat later in the microwave if any is left.

I beloved mine but apply them once and buy more than !!

Hello everyone interesting posts. Since my acid reflux acted up I've been drinking decaf java. At the same fourth dimension aI got this Keurig machine. Been using for about vi weeks. Haven't tried withal but I'grand thinking, especially with decaf, wouldn't matter much if second cup is weaker! So will soon try reusing a cup by taking out, squeezing sides a bit, put back in and come across what happens!

Your advert and advice about recycling is faux in Ontario. I know as a fact no company volition accept Keurig cups from any canton recycling centre.. Recycling centres can only part if companies will accept their waste material. Although the triangle is idea to be a recycling symbol by much of the public, It only signifies the type of plastic and the possibility of recycling #five plastic is of no value if no company will do it.

I have a two.0. I purchase reusable kcups just they accept an orange sticker. In one case information technology's gone you cant use them. What a rip off
by: Kay
It's laudable for a person to attempt and get more than apply out of ane cup, thus cutting downwards on waste. It would be insane for someone to not meet the wisdom in that...🤔
by: Ray
Just apply a new one! If you want cheap coffee become a regular coffee maker.

I utilise a single employ 1000-cup pod and ready it for a half-dozen ounce cup of coffee. As soon as the cup is brewed I open up the lid and close it straight back and hit 6 more than ounces. I get a 12 ounce cup of coffee that tastes just fine (I similar my coffee strong, and cannot drink it weak.) My Keurig will just brew upwardly to 10 ounces, and so this mode I become 12 ounces, no problem. I take not ever 'stored' used pods to utilise subsequently.

Since I posted in Apr 2017, I started using the plastic thing that came with my Keurig model. Daughter gave me hers, so I pre-fill them both the twenty-four hour period before. I use bulk Folger's grounds. I save a TON of cash, go along those pods out of the landfill, AND become to savor the aroma of coffee grounds during the make full!

Personal stance here. Utilizing a single serve, without sizing options (holds 300ml/10oz).
I find if yous utilise i kcup and mash 600ml aka 20oz aka 2 standard mugs at once.. you get skillful flavor and notwithstanding feel the caffeine boost. I as well find if I brew a 300ml aka 10oz 1aka standard mugs one time, drink well-nigh all of information technology (I typically leave a good glup left aka 2oz) and run some other 200ml/8oz of water, I'll get a nice "acme up"...merely I detect brewing a complete 2d cup from an already used kcup leaves yous with brown water that smells similar coffee and kinda tastes like information technology...get no satisfaction.
Currently drinking a breakfast alloy "top up" equally I type this up. Cracking to run into anothers agree with similar findings.

one loving cup is what tin exist had from 1 K-cupe``` maybe the 2d up from the smallest```
The smallest cup give a OK cupa```
I've refilled the G-cups~ with the aforementioned corporeality of coffee that volition make 12 cups~you get about five cups if refilling the K-cups~ maybe with the finest grind Similar Armenian Java~ a good cupa tin can be had with less in the K-loving cup```

I just tried reusing a yard-cup for a 2d cup of iced java, homo it was terrible tasted similar an ashtray I still have the atrocious gustation in my mouth.
by: Anonymous
I have used my K-Cup twice and gettwo good cups of java. Unlike mine mild and the taste is samebonthe second as the first!
by: Anonymous
If you open up a used g-cup, you lot will meet an inverse "cone" cut in the coffee caused past the h2o passing through it. It is obvious that a second employ would miss near the coffee pushed out of the way by the stream of the offset cycle. When I re-use a k-cup, I take it out, squeeze the side to collapse the cone and I become a stronger second cup that fashion.

I got weirded out for a few days later re-using my pile of used 1000-Cups sitting on my counter. Information technology might have been mold growing in them over weeks or months. That mold did happen last summer in the summer heat, and so I now have tons of used cups in the fridge, prepare to re-use (at the lowest ounces setting of ii.)
Will cut open the remaining counter cups today, to examine for mold.
The re-use counter batches tasted normal, and so the weirdness might simply exist "me". LOL Only that has never happened before in my 71 years, and only lasted 4-5-six days until it "wore off".
I assumed that the used cups stored on the counter would exist safe in wintertime, merely that was probably a error. I will store them in the fridge from now on, for sure, or re-use them within a twenty-four hour period or so. BTW, I buy my One thousand-Cups in the lxxx count boxes from Ollie'southward or Marc's. Full price is fool price!

Mom says using a k cup twice produces more acid in the second cup.... whatever validation of this???
past: Anonymous
My Keurig only has a 10oz maximum size so when I am filling a travel mug I will exercise a 10oz stiff brew so using the same pod do a 4oz or 6 oz mash from the same pod to get 14-16oz of java from one pod.
past: Hank
Subsequently using the k-cup once, cut a small 'cross' into the hole at the tiptop of the cup. Pull back the petty aluminum edges that you lot made with the cutting enough and so that y'all can cascade a small amount of loose coffee into the enlarged hole. Press the edges back down once again so the original hole is formed back up and reuse the cup. The added loose java is plenty to sufficiently strengthen the second loving cup.

Delight understand that I am not trying to exist rude or play the devil's advocate. However, many of these answers are so confusing. By saying you employ your cup "twice to make two cups of coffee" without including what ounces you use, doesn't really respond the question. So,I will give my not professional 2 cents. Get-go I use a reusable filter and my own ground beans. I fill up the reusable cup upwards to the mark that says "Max" typically most 3 teaspoons. I mash into a regular coffee pot at 12 ounces the first fourth dimension and so I brew a second time (without changing or refilling my pod) at either 4 to 6 ounces (making a total of 16-xviii oz). For me this makes a perfect loving cup of coffee, actually a couple cups of coffee using a large Tervis loving cup. I adopt a medium to strong flavor. Cheers for all the other responses that helped me figure out my own process. Promise this helps clarify for others like myself that needed a little actress detail. Happy New Year! & Merry late CHRISTmas!!
by: Bearding
I found that I tin brew 20oz out of mine if information technology all goes in i large cup. I do no recommend doing 10 then another 10 the second tastes watered down. If you practise two separate cups 10 so 4 or 6 is unremarkably ameliorate

I've had my machine for three days and love the coffee coming from it, but am trying to sort out how to become the best value from it. I'm going to try several of the techniques noted here. I don't similar the waste matter of the K-cups and am trying to figure out how to extend the life of them. I'chiliad using the small and medium settings into one cup for a decent portion serving. I definitely am troubled by having to continually refill the water reservoir, but don't want to use tap water. I oasis't seen that consequence addressed on this tread, though. Merry Christmas to anybody.
by: Bearding
If using a pod twice I become the optimal flavored by only selecting 4oz or 10oz. Many users have already commented that 20oz unmarried use taste slap-up so double use with only the aforementioned sizes works besides.
past: Bearding
I get 20 oz of coffee per k loving cup either Keureg or other brands. They are the same except cost.
From the reusable cup, I grind beans fresh using 1 level teaspoon, one fourth dimension for 10 oz cup.
by: Bearding
I drink community coffee night roast, for those who don't know what customs coffee is, it'southward a Louisiana coffee company with the best java in the world, well night roast is stiff, I use ane loving cup to fill a twenty oz cup and it's perfect, haven't used it to do another cup, but I know for 20 oz is good

Exactly how much will one thousand-loving cup pod make
by: Anonymous
I never tried using the same pod twice because I call back it would clog. If I did and then I would only endeavor it with the strongest java I know of and that is Starbucks. I think it would not touch the taste if you ran it through twice. Example beingness the french roast. I would expect a good strong cup even at in one case on the x ounce portion and as tasting on say a 6 ounce brew on the second time around. I would non attempt this with weaker blends of coffee and pods that contain less volume of coffee, every bit we know they do incorporate unlike volumes of java from one brand to the next.
by: KCupper
So, I reuse my K-Pod but the key is to change the ounces. I make 10 ounces the first round and and so reuse the same Yard-Pod and decrease the ounces to 4oz. and sometimes the setting on the second cup to STRONG, just depends. It works for me every time and it tastes just every bit good.

I run a small coffee guild in our part; I take used cups, rip off the foil, thoroughly clean and dry, re-sleeve the filter with a Melita Single Serve filter newspaper, fill with our preferred coffee, and cap with a square of foil snugged upward around the edges. When used, nosotros align the previous penetration point. We re-use these re-cycled cups nigh ii dozen times without issue. I marker the bottoms to ID each 'generation' and so that there is a clear cut-off. I refill virtually a week's worth at a time (threescore); takes me about 40-50 minutes to reload.

I've fabricated 2 cups of coffee with one Keurig cup A lot depends on how big the mug is that you use.

I have a question. When the h2o flows through a Kcup practise all of the grounds become used? or just the grounds in the direct flow?
Cheers,

When I started drinking coffee with my new auto.. I use the same G-cup in the morning and throughout the solar day.. that way past night fourth dimension the last cup I accept is a lot less caffeine, which doesn't keep me up all nighttime. I don't use carbohydrate or cream to be more healthy.. The coffee taste is much better than plain h2o. I used to use Mio, tea bags, and instant powders to add to water so I could get my 2 liters per twenty-four hours.. I'm using Gloria Jean'due south Hazelnut 1000-cups. So far, I'yard getting about five - xiv oz cups out of each one ~this seems to work for me.
by: NuffinGamer
Here is how I reuse mine. Wet or dry out either is fine just so long as they are not withal hot. Take off the foil top but salve information technology, information technology doesn't affair if you rip the filter. Push button 2-4 seeds into the coffee and top with potting soil Pour 1 tablespoon of water every other day (if it is dry out). Then top with foil hat. I stand them in both halves of a styrofoam egg carton. I also reuse any water from them for watering when it'south time once again. I establish when their 1-2" tall. I can carefully reuse them 4-6 times this way.

I use cups twice by doing this: let the grounds from 1st loving cup dry out for a day or and then past -removing loving cup from machine. Remove the grounds, rinse well, and let dry. Utilise your own java to fill cup, cover elevation and bottom with aluminum foil tightly to encompass holes on top and bottom, removing excess foil. Use in motorcar to brand south second cup. I've found this works more than once with these cups. This makes a better cup of C than using that extra coffee holder you lot buy- the water flows thru that too fast. Endeavour information technology!

I usually brand ii cups of coffee with on One thousand-cup unmarried use java.
i like less coffaine java

Based on the comments hither, I tried using a cup my wife had just used to made a 10 oz. strong cup in our Keurig 2.0.
The effect was something that looked like weak tea and tasted a lot worse.

I personally find people throw the cups away afterward a unmarried use. I pick them up out of the garbage and reuse them. They taste swell and almost sweet, sweet like the money I saved by not ownership my own cups.

What I have learned is each coffee brand contain a different amount of coffee in each cup, I like strong coffee, some cups incorporate as little equally .34 oz per cup upwards to .47 oz per 1000 cup, so I only buy the K cups that contain .45 oz or higher that mode my second loving cup is ever very favorfull.

GREEN TIP
REUSING KEURIG K-CUPS
If you have an original Keurig (not the new ii.0) it should have included a grey cup, cap and screen filter. Lose the screen filter, it does no hold the hot h2o long enough to brew adept coffee.
Footstep 1: Carefully remove all of the foil from the top of a used M-cup.
Pace 2: Empty and rinse the One thousand-loving cup and let dry. (I keep 6-viii dry cups at the prepare).
Stride 3: Fill up the loving cup to the tiptop with your favorite fine ground coffee (do not tamp or settle the grounds).
Pace four: Place it in the greyness cup holder and put the cap on tightly (the start time reuse may take a piffling extra pressure, merely subsequent reuses will be a snap).
Step 5: Identify information technology in the brewer in place of the Thousand-Loving cup holder and you are ready to mash (the next to largest cup seems to work all-time).
I get about six reuses before the paper filter starts to deteriorate. That'due south six non-recyclable cups that do not go into a landfill.

I've made two (8oz) cups of coffee with one K-cup and the second ane wasn't watered down at all. I definatly recommend getting two cups out of it even though they say information technology'due south practiced for one.
Maybe it depends on what kind of coffee, just I potable mudslide, hazelnut, morning breakfast, and chi tea.
by: JohnG4706
I endeavor to reuse the aforementioned puncture holes summit and lesser. The hot water is forced through the one thousand-Cup. Having a second pigsty on the top might crusade some leaking on the meridian of the 1000-Loving cup.
by: Cierra Dawn
I have a 20oz go mug that I use everyday. I hit the 10oz setting twice to fill up it up with just plenty room left over for a little saccharide and foam. I drinkable the strongest coffee i can find, then fifty-fifty if the second batch is half as week and the first batch information technology'southward still strong. It'southward all a personal preference. And I enjoy coffee to much to waist a drib lol.
by: iguanadan
I utilize ane K-Loving cup to brew a large mug of 14 oz of coffee. I hitting the medium push button, after that's done I reset the lid, then hit the small button and get xiv oz of coffee that's a perfect strength for me, not too strong or besides weak. Never tried to employ the loving cup subsequently that, I imagine it might be pretty weak by then. Only I don't run across why some couldn't hit the medium push twice and get a decent strength of java for a 16 oz. mug.

What are the negative impacts to your Keurig if a k-loving cup is used more than in one case?
Editor'south Annotation: No negative effects on the brewer. It'due south just that the second cup volition be really weak.
by: Anonymous
I have a mug that holds 10 ounces, if I add 10 ounces of water, my java is very weak - even 8ounces of water still gives a weak cup of coffee.
I have the Chiliad ten mini plus.
Some people say they become 2 cups of java from i kcup. I but desire one skilful eight-10 oz. cup. Past the way, I'chiliad not a stro g coffee lover ( never go to Sarbucks)
Thanks. Help!

I've been doing the aforementioned with my platinum edition, simply I take been taking out the k cup and spinning information technology 180 degrees for a 2nd puncture at the lesser on the opposite side... I don't know if it makes a difference or not... Merely my second large loving cup tastes as good as my first.... I'm brewing at the highest temp if 192 degrees.

I used a large mug and brewed English Breakfast Tea for the large cup, and then over again for the tea cup size (both in the same mug) The upshot was a very stiff very large cup of tea.
I've been using two or three k cups to make my morning mash. I'm going to effort brewing iii teacup size cups with the same k cup in the aforementioned mug and see what i get. I have the feeling that waste volition be averted. :)

My wife and I become 3 cups of coffee out of ane m-loving cup.

It kind of figures that if I can become a ten ounce cup out of i Kcup then two five ounce cups are just as succulent. I'm however experimenting and I'k up to two sevens. Still skilful.

Thats the best nowadays I've ever had I honey java at present and my husband says that coffee taste amend in the machines verse the coffee maker and I do get two to 3 cups out of a 1000 loving cup
by: Anonymous
I go two or three 12oz cups out of most of the K-Cups. The third cup is a bit lighter, merely nonetheless quite tasty.
This works on some brands amend than others, and oddly enough best on calorie-free roasts.
If you lot become something that mixes a powder and it all comes out, similar hot chocolate or chai latte mix (and some of the cheaper shop brand instants), then y'all tin plain only get one cup out.

I use it twice. the first time a big loving cup and so the smaller size. All the same tastes great. this is with the B-40

I take used i Thousand-Cup to brand 3-10oz cups and nevertheless tasted great.

I viewed comments almost hot to achieve keen tasting Dunkin Donut'due south style coffee. The solutions boiled down to the temperature of the water. Literally, boil the h2o first, and then put it into the java maker and brew. The difference is like nighttime and day. I finish using my coffee maker until this evening 01-fourteen-2010. I decided to requite information technology another try. So i boiled the water offset, and then normal mash, BIG Departure! Attempt information technology for yourself. Let me know what ya think! It's better brewing, much better taste! Thanks Coffee Detective. My case solved for bad tasting coffee. Hotter brewing water was needed!
